Prepping my ethnobotany presentation today for the Native Arts Day event. It's hosted by the Rio Brazos Master Naturalist this coming Saturday at Big bear Museum in Cleburne. Trying to pick which native plants would be most interesting but also most significant to the tribes who lived here for ages before removal, namely the Witchita and Comanche people. Learning about the history of these plants really deepens my appreciation of them, how they sustained human and other animal life for all these years. They deserve our upmost respect! #peopleandplants #respect #ethnobotany
